POSITION
OVERVIEW

Eximis Surgical is developing a laparoscopic specimen removal system for minimally invasive surgery (MIS) designed to fully contain specimen segmentation and removal. Eximis secured $8.7M in financing from Olympus Innovation Ventures to fund U.S. regulatory and IDE clinical trial activities. We are partnering with Bob Luzzi, VP of R&D of Eximis Surgical, to hire our R&D Electrical Engineering team (entry-level up to Staff).

Technology Video: Specimen Segmentation and Removal

This position will be responsible for the hardware, analog, power supply, and circuit development while adhering to all relevant medical device FDA standards and regulations. Additionally, leading and executing verification and validation, risk management, ensuring IEC 60601, supporting system requirements, and testing will be a key focus for this role. This person can come in as an individual contributor or will grow and lead a team.

Candidates must be within driving distance of company headquarters for these positions. Relocation assistance is available.

DETAILS

  • Participate in product development and design of electro-mechanical medical devices and sub systems.
  • Develop and execute engineering testing plans/protocols, test development, testing, analysis of data, and reporting.
  • Interface with outside vendors as needed to communicate design requirements to ensure the accuracy of parts and subsystem manufacturing by vendors.
  • Collecting data and gathering information for assigned project(s)
  • Performing standard computations or analyses.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering with minimum of 1 year experience in a regulated industry, medical device preferred.

  • Strong fundamental electronic and computer engineering skills, analog or analog to digital design focus preferred
  • Proficiency with basic electronic test equipment, data collection, and analysis
  • Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings per applicable industry standards.
  • Strong trouble shooting/problem identification – brings issues to the attention of the project team.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • A demonstrated Team Player able to work with an experienced Eximis Surgical team with confidence and professionalism.
  • Candidate must have a strong desire to be part of a very dynamic and mission driven company.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize.
